Your next scroll doesn’t have to be a spiral.
A practical, no-guilt guide to interrupting doomscrolling and making room for the things you actually want to do.
You open your phone for one thing. A few swipes later, you’ve forgotten what it was. Sound familiar? Start by changing one moment in that routine.
Give the scroll a job
Before you open an app, finish this sentence: “I’m here to…” Reply to a friend. Look up a trail. Check one account. A clear task gives you a place to stop.
Decide when you’ll leave
Set a short session limit before you start. A daily budget answers how much time you want to spend in total. A session limit answers how long this particular visit should last. Try a length that feels realistic, then adjust it.
Put something better within reach
Leaving your phone is easier when you know what you’re doing next. Put your book on the couch. Leave your shoes by the door. Pick a tiny next step, like reading two pages or walking around the block.
Make one change today
Choose the app where you most often lose track of time. In Scroll Patrol, select that app and set your scrolling session limit. When your session reaches its limit, Scroll Patrol blocks access. You can also turn Patrol on to block your selected apps.
This isn’t a test of willpower. It’s an experiment in making your time feel more like yours. Notice what works, and make the next day a little easier.
A little backup for your next scroll.
Put a finish line on your scrolling sessions with Scroll Patrol.
